In this camp, the artist will create about one painting each day to yield four paintings by the end of the week.
The artist will complete a landscape, Self-portrait, Still Life, and Abstract painting.

Get ready for a week full of creativity, color, and imagination! In Masterpiece Camp, young artists will explore famous techniques, styles, and mediums to create their very own masterpieces. Each day will focus on a different artist or movement, inspiring campers to experiment with painting, drawing, and more.
Perfect for all skill levels, this camp is all about building confidence, trying new things, and having FUN with art!

Come learn chant, gain new sight-reading skills, and grow your voice while exploring medieval-inspired art at this one-week chant and art camp, designed especially for early learners.
Mrs. Benke is thrilled to be partnering with her daughter, Abi, on this very unique camp, bringing together their shared love of art, music, and imagination. As an art teacher, Mrs. Benke will guide students through a different medieval-inspired project each day, drawing from castle landscapes, illuminated manuscripts, dragons, and iconography. Each day offers a new creative focus, allowing students to explore these rich artistic traditions in a hands-on, engaging way.
A professional singer and musician, Abi holds two degrees in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy (Bachelor of Music and Master of Music). While she has performed in a variety of styles and settings, she loves church music, and as an educator, she is most passionate about helping people discover their one, true authentic voice.
Fascinated by medieval history and inspired by art as spiritual formation, Abi has developed a deep love of Gregorian chant and is excited to share that beauty with others. As the foundation of so much of Western music, Gregorian chant offers a unique opportunity to cultivate the voice in its most natural and essential form, free from the added noise of modern technologies.

Time in the Art Studio is like a sanctuary ushering in the creative side of the artist fostering growth. Young artists are captivated, focused, and engaged as they express themselves.

MEET MRS. BENKE
MEET MRS. BENKE
Maureen Benke has been teaching children art for over 39 years. As a little girl, she loved playing “teacher” with her dolls. This early creativity not only inspired her to become an educator, but gave her a deep respect for the childhood imagination. Getting to experience a child discovering their own creative potential is the reason she teaches art. Her primary goal is to inspire children to recognize the creativity they uniquely possess.
